Hamlet of Vista

NYS Route 123 / Smith Ridge Road Pedestrian and Bicycle Concept Study

Working with the Vista Hamlet Stewardship Council, a dedicated community driven non-profit, CTLA developed the NYS Route 123 / Smith Ridge Road Pedestrian and Bicycle Concept Study to support a long-range multi-modal vision for the hamlet.

Efforts focused on studying safe and convenient travel options for pedestrians and bicyclists in a highly constrained corridor. The context sensitive study evaluated several transportation concepts to provide the desired new pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. CTLA studied existing and future community uses and considered strategies for integration with the character of the rolling landscape and historic features. CTLA identified next steps to continue to build community support for this vision and lead to future implementation.
