City of Albany

Washington Park Playground

The City of Albany is advancing a project to create a destination playground in Washington Park, the centerpiece of the Washington Park Historic District, which is designated on the National Register of Historic Places. The consultant team, led by Foit-Albert, includes Rusty Keeler and Chiuten Trowbridge Landscape Architects who will provide landscape architectural services for the project. The initial concept for the playground includes unique natural play elements to invite families from the surrounding neighborhoods and beyond.

The site design must seamlessly integrate with the historic park landscape and will involve collaboration with the City of Albany, The Washington Park Conservancy, and the State Office of Historic Preservation. The project is envisioned to break ground in 2025.
