High Falls State Park

CTLA is presently engaged by New York State Parks on a landmark project to design the new High Falls State Park in downtown Rochester, New York. As a member of the subconsultant team led by OLIN Studio, CTLA is building on prior experiences with the site and its stakeholders. CTLA’s role includes community outreach support and design contributions from concept through construction observation as a strategic partner.

The new park will provide access to portions of the Genesee River gorge and the spectacular High Falls which have been historically inaccessible to the public due to large scale industrial facilities. The project is envisioned to be a catalyst for community building in downtown Rochester rooted in inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation. Park amenities and ecological restoration will redefine the contemporary use of the site and support uses by neighbors and visitors alike.
