Chadakoin River Activation Project

Chiuten Trowbridge Landscape Architecture (CTLA) is providing comprehensive design services for the Chadakoin River Activation Project, an initiative led by the City of Jamestown. As a subconsultant to C&S Engineers, CTLA is contributing design expertise across all project phases—from initial concept development through construction documentation—to reimagine and revitalize public spaces along the Chadakoin River in downtown Jamestown.

Building on a series of prior planning efforts, the project seeks to establish a cohesive and inspiring design vision that will guide the transformation of the riverfront and support the first phase of capital improvements. Proposed features include a new outdoor performance venue to complement the abutting National Comedy Center, ecological restoration areas, public gardens, and a waterside welcome pavilion serving as a gateway for visitors arriving by both the river itself and the city streets.

The project is currently in the conceptual design phase and is actively engaging with community stakeholders to shape and refine the vision for this transformative public realm initiative.
